Race Reviews
Round 8 - 3rd
I had a strong start to the weekend showing promising pace in both of the practice sessions. We knew that we would have a mountain to climb since we had a 20 second success penalty following our win at Spa. The team and I had full confidence in what we could achieve over the weekend. Our aim, to maximise what we could with our penalty to give us the best chance at the title in the final round.
I had a strong qualifying finishing P2 in the Pro group and also P2 in the combined time. This gave us a good starting point for the race to try and get away.
My team mate, Ash, did a fantastic job getting into the lead however with an unfortunate safety car losing our advantage over the pack forced us to come out of our pit stop in 7th place. I managed to come through the pack and finally finish 3rd.
I am over the moon with a podium considering the penalty that we had to over come.
This result now puts us in the lead of the overall British GT4 Championship, and also in the lead of the Silver Championship going into the final round at Donington. This was our goal and I am happy we achieved it.
Now we focus on the final round in 6 weeks time where the championship will go down to the wire at Donington Park.
