Coming into the race weekend, it was very much planned as a weekend of learning for Tom and getting the car back out there for the team after lots of work and 3 years away from any historic racing. The Estoril Classic is one of the biggest events in historic racing and the biggest in Portugal. 

The Ginetta G10's chassis actually snapped in the first practice just from the strain of being driven and it looked like our weekend was all over but thanks to Racar for assisting us in finding a fabrication shop nearby to the circuit, the team quickly loaded up the car, took it down there and began work rebuilding and strenghtening the chassis. By Saturday qualifying we had the car back out there and running at full speed, qualifying 4th. Which after beleieving we likely weren't even going to be competing in the race, it already felt like a win.

In the race, Tom worked his way into 3rd position early on and began chasing the Ford GT40's out in front. Moving into P2 later in the race, the team started to see they were really on for a podium. Near the end of the race the 3rd place GT40 was closing in as the Ford creates much less stress on it's tyres and the Ginetta was starting to drop off. Fortunately a late safety car secured they're position in P2, later being promoted to P1 after the on track winner was penalised for a pit stop infringment by being 20s under the minimum pit time.

What a debut for Feathers and Tom, claiming victory in one of the hardest races Tom has competed in and certainly one of the most fun. Feathers now look forward to what's in store for 2026 in both the Feathers Motorsport Vantage GT4 and the Ginetta G10.
